St. John's Mercy Medical Center is a 900 bed hospital located in suburban St. Louis. This video production was created by the microbiology laboratory, often the unsung heroes in the fight to reduce health care associated infections. This production focuses on hand hygiene and isolation precautions, the two most effective ways of reducing health care associated infection. The video addresses the proper way to perform these functions in a fun, Olympic-style biathlon. This video is dedicated to our patients and those we serve.
